American Artists Professional League
Spring 2024 
Member’s Online Show


AAPL members who are Elected Artist, Fellow, Signature or Life Members are invited to enter one to three realist or representational works of art of their choice.

All accepted works will be displayed and, if for sale, listed in the AAPL Artwork Store on the website (AAPLinc.org) from May 24th to August 1st2024. The images from the show will be kept live on the website indefinitely.

Entry fee: $25 for the first entry, $10 for each additional entry, up to a maximum of 3 artwork entries. Only one will be accepted.

Sculpture may include 2 detail images per artwork.

Entries accepted through Juried Art Services from Friday, March 15 -Tuesday, April 30, 2024

Notification of accepted works & award winners: May 22, 2024.

Show Dates: May 24th to August 1st on-line at AAPLlinc.org and in the Artwork Store. Artwork does not need to be for sale.

AWARDS

1st Place ($200) and 2nd Place ($100) in each of 6 categories (Oil, Acrylic, Graphics and Mixed Media, Pastel, Water media, and Sculpture)

Tony Armendariz is an award-winning American artist living and 
painting in Palatine, Illinois. Born and raised in Chicago to a graphic arts family, he learned to create with textile, photography, drawing and painting. Graduating from the American Academy of Art in Chicago, he studied under renowned watercolor instructor Irving Shapiro. While still attending the Academy, he began his employment in the corporate world for over 20 years as a graphic artist, illustrator and web designer.

Tony’s work has been published, most notably in Fine Art Connoisseur, American Art Collector and Watercolor Artist magazines. Venues where he has exhibited include The Butler Institute of American Art, RJD Gallery, The Salmagundi Club and Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

● Open to all Elected Artist, Fellow, Signature or Life Members who have paid their 2024 dues.

● Associate Artist Members are not eligible to enter this show.

● Open to artists 18 years of age or older.

● Up to three (3) works in the same medium may be submitted. However, only one work per artist may be accepted.

● Only works in Representational or Traditional Realism will be

considered.

● Entries in oil, acrylic, water media, pastel, graphics and mixed media, and sculpture must be original and not previously exhibited with the American Artists Professional League.

● Giclées, photographs, lithographs, screen-prints, and digital prints are not eligible.

● For prints, woodblocks, linocut, etchings, monotypes and engravings will be considered.

● No refunds for entry fees. Mistaken entry fees will be donated to the American Artists Fund, AAPL’s charitable arm.

● No minimum or maximum size restrictions.

● Sale prices for art need to be in United States currency. Work does not have to be for sale.

● Selected work will be showcased on AAPLinc.org, in the AAPL newsletter and in AAPL social media.

● Your entry confirms that the work entered is your own and that copyrighted images by others have not been incorporated into your work.

● By entering, you agree that AAPL may reproduce your work for promotional purposes.

● Certificates will be presented to award winners.

MEMBERSHIP

● Elected Artist, Fellow, Signature, or Life Membership in AAPL is required.

● New members are always welcome. Apply for membership before entering this show.

● Membership is available through the website: AAPLinc.org

ENTRY PROCESS AND SPECIFICATIONS

● All entries are to be submitted through www.juriedartservices.com (JAS). JAS provides a comprehensive ‘Help Menu.’

● AAPL provides help with any application issues by contacting Alex Tibar at admin@aaplinc.org

● JAS requires digital files in the universal jpeg format - 1400 to 4000 pixels on the longest dimension - 300 pixels per inch.

● No frame, mat or background may be visible.

● Image must be displayed right side up.

● After submitting an image(s) and making payment you can change your submission(s) by returning to the JAS website and following directions. Or contact JAS or AAPL for help.

No submissions will be accepted after midnight EST on April 30th2024.

JURY PROCESS

● Each entry is reviewed and scored by the members of the AAPL Board of Directors.

● Submissions are scored on the quality and individual mastery of each medium as well as the composition and design of the work.

● Jurors score the image and do not see any information about the artist.

● Images not displayed right side up or without proper cropping will not be juried.Jurors on the panel make selections based on the digital image(s).

Make certain the image(s) submitted is a true representation of the work. Work misrepresented by the submitted image(s) will not be shown.

NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTED WORKS

● Announced by May 22nd, 2024.

● Names of ‘Accepted Artists’ to be listed on the AAPL website:

AAPLinc.org

SALES

Artwork will be for sale on our site for the duration of the show, unless works are specified as Not for Sale (NFS).

Sales terms: If something sells, AAPL receives 30% commission of the sale price. Artists are responsible for the shipping if their artwork sells, invoicing the buyer or making other arrangements.

ARTIST SUBMISSION AGREEMENT

Your online entry will constitute that you agree and acknowledge the terms and conditions set forth in this Prospectus.
