The Twenty-fourth Annual National Juried

Exhibition Of Traditional Oils

Oil Painters of America is excited about visiting the oldest city in the United States, St. Augustine, Florida, for our Twenty-fourth Annual National Exhibition and Convention. This event is being held at Cutter & Cutter Fine Art (DBA Brilliance in Color Gallery) May 1 through May 25, 2015, with a 2 day preview on April 29 & 30. St. Augustine’s coastal location affords a variety of activities for the visitor, including exploring such places as the Pirate and Treasure Museum and the Spanish Quarter as well as offering extensive beaches for swimming, surfing, boating and fishing.

An opening reception will be held at the Brilliance in Color Gallery for artists, collectors, the public and the press on Friday, May 1, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the awards presentation taking place immediately following at the Casa Monica Hotel. As has become our custom, many informative and educational seminars will be offered to OPA members and guests during the convention.

Our goal is to assemble the finest display of representational oil paintings. The focus in the jurying process will be to select paintings that show the highest quality in draftsmanship, color, and composition, emphasizing a diversity in representational style and subject matter.

The total awards will be in excess of $80,000, including a $25,000 Best In Show.

The awarding juror will be OPA Master Signature member Huihan Liu.

Artists who reside in the United States, Canada and Mexico and are 2015 OPA members or have submitted an application for membership or renewal for 2015 may apply for this exhibition. Artists whose residency is in question must provide OPA with documentation certifying legal residency. See Bylaws Article II K on-line for definition of residency requirements.
