FINE LINE CREATIVE ARTS CENTER PRESENTS

28th ANNUAL UNCOMMON THREADS

ART-TO-WEAR RUNWAY SHOW, LUNCHEON AND BOUTIQUE

Show:

Fine Line Creative Arts Center presents the 28th Annual Uncommon Threads Art-to-Wear Show, Luncheon and Boutique. The show will be held at the Q Center in St. Charles, IL allowing for attendance of over 500. Fine Line Creative Arts Center, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit art center is located in the western suburbs of Chicago in St. Charles, IL. Additional information about the show can be found at https://www.fineline.org/events/uncommonthreads.html.

Artists can participate in the following ways/categories:

Runway and Garment/Accessory Boutique – Participation is open to all one-of-a-kind wearable art in any fiber-related media. Work represented must be an original concept and executed by the artist. All items must be for sale. Each artist must submit between 3-5 pieces for the runway show. Artist work will be shown together in an act. All runway garments will be for sale after the completion of the runway show. Artists can submit additional work for sale in the Boutique (sales handled by Fine Line) beyond the 3-5 garments submitted for the runway. All extra garments will be for sale in the boutique both before and after the runway show. All runway garments are due to Fine Line by Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Please note that jewelry and children’s clothing are not shown on the runway and the committee reserves the right to make final garment selections to be included on the runway. If you would like to have a booth in the Boutique (information below), please indicate YES to booth space.

Garment/Accessory Boutique - Participation is open to all one-of-a-kind wearable art (clothing, jewelry, hats, purses, etc.). Work represented must be an original concept and executed by the artist. All items must be for sale. Artists requesting a booth are responsible for the booth set-up, sales during the boutique shopping and booth break-down/cleanup. There are advantages to having a booth: (#1) You bring your own stock/items on the day, (#2) your work will sell better if sold by you, (#3) you are not tying-up a large amount of stock and (#4) there is no restriction on selling price.

This is a runway and boutique show. Runway artists not requesting a booth need not be present for the show. Artists requesting a booth space MUST be present for the show (set-up at 8am, take-down at 3pm). For artists participating in the show as a runway artist or providing extra garments (without a booth), Fine Line will handle the display and sales. Artists are responsible for the shipping costs and insurance to and from the show.

Booths – A limited number of 8’ X 8’ booths are available. Spaces are allocated by the Boutique Committee with all decisions final. There is no limit to the number or price of items for sale. You, or your designate, must man your own booth and be responsible for your inventory. If accepted as a booth artist (with or without runway pieces) an invoice for the additional booth fee of $40 will be sent via PayPal.

The show is produced by Fine Line’s Uncommon Threads Show Committee and will be advertised throughout the Chicagoland area through print media, postcards and on-line advertising. The show charges a sales commission of 35% for any items sold during the show (runway and boutique). Fine Line will handle all sales/sales tax (even for artists with a booth) and will provide the artist with a check a week after the show for all sales (less 35% commission).
