June 8 to 16 and June 23 to 29, 2019

Primary Selection: online                                                     Final Selection: Tokyo

Art Olympia is an open art competition held as a biennial event with the goal of discovering talented artists around the world and supporting their art activities. Approximately 160 artworks (80 from Japan and 80 more worldwide) will be selected and undergo a final review in Tokyo by a panel of great judges invited from around the world. In addition, 1000 artists will be honored.

Entry Locations
Primary screening will be held at two locations, New York and Tokyo. There will be 80 works selected from each location, which will proceed to the final review in Tokyo. At the final review, 160 artworks will be evaluated to select the winners. New York based entry is for artists residing outside of Japan regardless of nationality.

1st place winner will receive $120,000 and 1,000 artists will be featured in Art Olympia website and art magazines

$1,000 for 10 artists

Honorable Mention

$700 for 40 artists

$700 for 10 artists

$500 for 54 artists

$500 for 14 artists

Separately from the top 160 finalists, Art Olympia will recognize 200 additional great works with an outstanding work award and another 640 fine works as honorable mention. There is no monetary prize for these awards. Artists with outstanding work awards will be listed by name in an art magazine, and their works on the original pictorial records of works and Art Olympia website. The 640 artists who received honorable mention will have their name listed in an art magazine and Art Olympia website.

Student artists will automatically be considered for both All-Entrants category and Student category. If student artists place in top six in both field, All-Entrants category and student category, then they will receive the higher prized award, and the runner-ups will be moved up to the vacated awards.

There are special jury prizes in Art Olympia in addition to the first to sixth prize. They will be awarded to the works whichever each juror scores the highest.

Judging Process
At the primary screening, a panel of five (5) jurors will evaluate the works as digital images March 2019. Ten (10) jurors will conduct the final review by evaluating the actual works in Tokyo June 2019. In order to keep a fair competition, all artworks will be judged without disclosing the name of the artists. Art Olympia also adopts clear point-system for judging.
