Presents

The Twenty-sixth Annual National Juried

Exhibition Of Traditional Oils

Oil Painters of America is pleased to announce the 2017 National Exhibition and Convention will be hosted by Eisele Gallery of Fine Art, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, May 12 through June 10, 2017. An opening reception will be held at the gallery for artists, collectors, the public and the press on Friday, May 12, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the awards presentation taking place during that time. A wide array of informative and educational seminars will be offered to OPA members and guests during the convention.

While visiting Cincinnati you might want to visit the Taft Museum of Art, built in 1820 and now a National Historic Landmark, housing an extensive collection of art by European and American master artists.  Then delve into the Cincinnati’s hidden past on an underground tour or take a riverboat cruise to learn the history of the river.  Other points of interest are: the Newport Aquarium, where you can touch a shark, pet a penguin or walk on a 75’ rope bridge suspended over an open 385,000 gallon tank with over 20 sharks, and (for model train enthusiasts) EnterTRAINment Junction, a 25,000 sq. ft. display with 90 trains representing every era of American railroading.

Our goal is to assemble the finest display of representational oil paintings. The focus in the jurying process will be to select paintings that show the highest quality in draftsmanship, color, and composition, emphasizing a diversity in representational style and subject matter.

The total awards will be in approximately $100,000, including a $25,000 Best In Show.

The awarding juror will be OPA Master Signature member William Whitaker.

Artists who reside in the United States, Canada and Mexico and are 2017 OPA members or have submitted an application for membership or renewal for 2017 may apply for this exhibition. Artists whose residency is in question must provide OPA with documentation certifying legal residency. See Bylaws Article II K online for definition of residency requirements.

Oil Painters of America and Eisele Gallery of Fine Art will not be responsible for loss or damage of any artwork, no matter what the cause. By submitting artwork to this exhibition, each artist will be deemed to have concurred with this agreement. Artists pay for shipping both ways. We suggest that you provide insurance to cover the full value of the artwork while in transit.

Howard Friedland, Signature Member and OPA Board Member, will serve as chairman of a Jurying Committee consisting of five Master Signature or Signature members of OPA. The results of the jurying will be final.

No refunds will be made on unaccepted entries.

Good Luck and Good Painting
