Presents The

2016 Salon Show

Juried Exhibition Of Traditional Oils

OPA’s 2016 Salon Show Juried Exhibition is being hosted by Castle Gallery Fine Art, offering 10,000 square feet of gallery space, located in Indiana’s second largest city, Fort Wayne. This event will take place from September 30 through October 29, 2016. Known as “The City of Attractions” Fort Wayne boasts having 11 museums and historic sites within walking distance in the downtown area, including the Fort Wayne Museum of Art. If not the museums, you might find of interest the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory, with its colorful seasonal gardens, the Black Pine Animal Sanctuary, home to displaced, captive raised animals of many species, or the DeBrand Fine Chocolate Factory where you may tour the corporate headquarters and sample some of their tasty chocolates. The Castle Gallery Fine Art building was constructed as a private home in 1905 of granite boulders in the Richardson Romanesque style and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Castle Gallery Fine Art is hosting an opening reception on Friday, September 30, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the awards presentation at 8:00 p.m.

Our goal is to assemble the finest display of approximately 275 representational oil paintings. The focus in the jurying process will be to select paintings that show the highest quality in draftsmanship, color, and composition, emphasizing a diversity in representational style and subject matter.

The total awards will be a minimum of $12,000 in cash and/or merchandise.

The awarding juror will be a nationally renowned OPA Signature or Master Signature Member.

Eligible states and provinces include: all paid members residing in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Artists must be either 2016 OPA paid members or have submitted an application for membership for 2016 to be eligible to submit an entry in this exhibition. Artists whose residency is in question must provide OPA with documentation certifying legal residency. See Bylaws Article II K on-line for definition of residency requirements.

Liabilities and Responsibilities

Oil Painters of America and Castle Gallery Fine Art will not be responsible for loss or damage of any artwork, no matter what the cause. By submitting artwork to this exhibition, each artist will be deemed to have concurred with this agreement. Artists pay for shipping both ways. We suggest that you provide insurance to cover the full value of the artwork while in transit.

Howard Friedland, Signature Member and OPA Board Member, will serve as chairman of a Jurying Committee consisting of five Master Signature or Signature members of OPA. The results of the jurying will be final. No refunds will be made on unaccepted entries.
