Presents

The Twenty-fifth Annual National Juried
Exhibition Of Traditional Oils

Oil Painters of America is celebrating its Silver Anniversary in 2016 with the best national exhibition and convention ever. In recognition of this monumental event, cash and merchandise awards will be approximately $100,000. This year’s show will be hosted by Southwest Gallery, located in Dallas, Texas, May 13 through June 15. An opening reception will be held at the gallery for artists, collectors, the public and the press on Friday, May 13, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the awards presentation taking place at 7:00 p.m. As in the past, informative and educational seminars will be offered to OPA members and guests during the convention.

While not attending an OPA event you might want to visit such places in Dallas as: the Pioneer Plaza with its re-creation of a cattle drive with longhorn steers driven by cowboys all cast in bronze, the Dallas Heritage Village at Old City Park with 21 buildings depicting a living history of Dallas or the Frontiers of Flight Museum that offers the opportunity to explore the history and progress of aviation, as mankind continually pursues going higher, faster and farther through flight.

Our goal is to assemble the finest display of representational oil paintings. The focus in the jurying process will be to select paintings that show the highest quality in draftsmanship, color, and composition, emphasizing a diversity in representational style and subject matter.

The total awards will be approximately $100,000, including a $25,000 Best In Show.

The awarding juror will be OPA Master Signature member Kevin Macpherson.

Artists who reside in the United States, Canada and Mexico and are 2016 OPA members or have submitted an application for membership or renewal for 2016 may apply for this exhibition. Artists whose residency is in question must provide OPA with documentation certifying legal residency. See Bylaws Article II K online for definition of residency requirements.

Liabilities and Responsibilities

Oil Painters of America and Southwest Gallery will not be responsible for loss or damage of any artwork, no matter what the cause. By submitting artwork to this exhibition, each artist will be deemed to have concurred with this agreement. Artists pay for shipping both ways. We suggest that you provide insurance to cover the full value of the artwork while in transit.

Howard Friedland, Signature Member and OPA Board Member, will serve as chairman of a Jurying Committee consisting of five Master Signature or Signature members of OPA. The results of the jurying will be final.
No refunds will be made on unaccepted entries.
