Founders exhibitions are a long-held tradition honoring the founding members of the Naples Art Association. In 1954, E. George Rogers placed an advertisement in the Collier County News calling for a meeting of art enthusiasts. Grace Lake, Elsie Dorey Upham and other interested artists responded. Within a few months they had filed a petition for charter and the Naples Art Association was founded as the first non-profit visual arts organization in Collier County. Shortly after the Naples Art Association created the von Liebig Art Center as its first permanent home, the annual Founders exhibition became a biennial held during each even-numbered year. Artwork is juried online. In addition to artists in Florida, we encourage participation from NAA members across the country and overseas.

The 51st Founders Juried Awards Exhibition is a fine art exhibition open to 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional artwork. Artwork will be installed in the Frederick O. Watson Gallery at the von Liebig Art Center from March 12 through April 16, 2016. The von Liebig Art Center is located in Naples, Florida in the heart of the 5th Avenue South shopping, dining and entertainment district.
