Prospectus

American Women Artists announces the 2015 Spring Online Juried Show, an exclusive juried show opportunity for our Associate Artist Members. Final works selected will appear in an online gallery on the AWA website www.americanwomenartists.org, and will be featured in our E-newsletter and through our social media. Finalists will also be juried for awards and prizes. AWA is dedicated to providing professional opportunities for women in the visual fine arts; the Spring Online Juried Show creates an additional exhibition opportunity on our website for our associate members. The Spring Online Juried Show gallery page remains on the AWA website for a full year.

Open to any AWA Associate member currently paid for 2015 working representationally in either 2D or 3D, in a traditional or contemporary style, the Spring Online Juried Show application process will begin February 1, 2015 and end on March 18, 2015. Finalists will be announced in the beginning of April 2015.

Two Grand Prize winners will be chosen from the group of finalists (one in the 2D and one in the 3D category), along with one overall Second Prize and one overall Third Prize. Several Awards of Merit will also be selected.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to all AWA Associate members. Applicant must be an AWA Associate member of current standing with dues paid or renewed for 2015. Annual dues are $60. Please visit www.americanwomenartists.org to join as a new member or renew your membership for 2015. If 2015 dues are not paid, entry will be disqualified. If you are unsure whether you’ve paid your 2015 dues, please email contact@americanwomenartists.org.

ENTRY GUIDELINES

Representational art - drawing, painting, or sculpture. Work must be original (no workshop pieces), and completed within the last two years. Application process begins on February 1, 2015.

Acceptable mediums for sculpture: cast metal, fabricated metal, stone, fired terra cotta, glass

Acceptable mediums for painting: oil, acrylic, water media, pastel and egg tempera, encaustic

Acceptable mediums for drawing: conte crayon, colored pencil, graphite, pen & ink, scratchboard.

Not Accepted : craft, jewelry, photography, digital art or any work containing computer generated elements, prints, textile or fiber art.

As this is an online show, there is no size restriction on work submitted.

Follow all instructions on JPEG image requirements for submission through Juried Art Services. Format JPEG images to 300ppi, not to exceed 1800 pixels on longest side.

All works entered must not have been accepted for a previous AWA national juried competition show.

Maximum entries: three (3)

Maximum of one (1) piece of artwork per accepted artist will be juried into the online show.

By submitting images to this juried opportunity, you understand and agree that accepted images will be displayed on AWA website, Facebook page, and other social and/or print media. Artists retain copyright to their image(s).

ENTRY FEES

$25 for up to 3 images.

DEADLINE

Final acceptance of all submissions is March 18, 2015.

AWARDS

Two Grand Prize winners will be chosen from the group of finalists (one in the 2D and one in the 3D category), along with one overall Second Prize and one overall Third Prize. Several Awards of Merit will also be selected.

Grand prize winners in both 2D and 3D categories each receive $200 cash award, merchandise awards, and waived jury fees for AWA’s National Juried Competition, should they decide to submit work for that competition. Second prize winner will receive merchandise/sponsor award and $150 cash award. Third prize winner will receive merchandise/sponsor award and $100 cash award. Award of Merit winners will receive certificates of recognition. All award winners will be recognized on AWA website, social media, E-newsletter.

SELECTION PANEL & JUROR OF AWARDS

A panel consisting of AWA Master and Signature members will select finalists. Award winners will be selected by Juror of awards (to be determined).
