Judge: Tim Tyler

"Inspired by the Old Masters, Tyler’s skills and technical ability to achieve high levels of realism are impressive, yet it’s his visual wit, use of satire, and clever method of social commentaries that he weaves into his compositions that elevate his works above practicing realist artists"

-Aaron Jones, Interpretations Manager at Crystal Bridges Museum of Art

Tim has exhibited in over 60 galleries through which his oils have been disbursed around the world. He teaches workshops, judges art contests, and writes articles. Today, painting, exhibitions with art associations, museum exhibitions, periodical advertisement, articles, and the internet make for a full agenda.

Irreverent or comedic, increasingly edgy with underlying meanings, his production is dominated by figurative work. Scores of books and magazines include his creations. Tim’s “The Deconstructionist” was the first painting by a living artist to break into top ten most popular paintings at Art Renewal Center. He was accepted to exhibit at the American Artist Professional League - Salmagundi Club. In 2014, “Happy Homemaker” garnered seven awards to date including: “Grand Prize Allied Artists of America Special Exhibition” which included elected membership, “NOAPS Spring online contest”; “Best of Show”, Oil Painters of America National Exhibition; “Most Original”, “Award of Excellence”, and “Viewer’s Choice” He is also a member of the Portrait Society of America and the California Art Club.

The National Oil and Acrylic Painters' Society was organized for the purpose of "governing, administering, and maintaining such activities as will provide a national forum and standard of excellence in which artists can fully express the media of oil and acrylic on canvas and panel." Focusing on the emerging artist, rather than the well known painters who have already gained acceptance in the Visual Fine Arts industry, the NOAPSociety has continued to encourage these extremely talented artists. This philosophy has served well during a two plus decades of steady growth as evidenced by its tremendous appeal to not only to the art connoisseur, but also to the general public which persists in its relentless quest of "The BEST!"
