Abington Fine Arts & Crafts Show Prospectus
The Abington Art Center Fine Arts and Crafts Show, May 29-31, is a juried exhibition and sale of exceptional work created and made by hand by American fine artists and craftsman across the country. This beautiful showcase is held at the Abington Art Center, Jenkintown, PA., and is dedicated to providing a rich visual arts experience for collectors and art enthusiasts from all over the tri-state area.

This is an outdoor show.

All artists wishing to participate are required to submit an application to the jury and must apply online. Three jurors who are professionals in the fields of fine arts and crafts are invited each year to jury the applicants’ work.

The non-refundable fee for the online application is $35, payable online by credit card via PayPal.

The Abington Art Center Fine Arts and Crafts Show online application is due February 1, 2015.

The late application deadline is February 8, 2015. A $25 late fee in addition to the regular application fee (total $65) will apply.

Notification made by March 1st.

BOOTH FEES
10' x 10' Outside = $ 300
10’ x 20’ Outside = $450
10’ x 10’ Under the stone pavilion includes electricity= $ 400
Artists must provide their own outdoor canopy with 50lb weights per post.

APPLICATION GUIDELINES
Abington Art Center shows are open to all fine arts and crafts artists who reside and work in the United States. All work to be exhibited must be well conceived and expertly executed by hand or with appropriate tools. Whether one-of-a-kind or limited edition, all work should reflect the individuality of the artist.

CATEGORIES
Only the following categories of contemporary arts and crafts are eligible: Ceramics, Fiber Wearable, Fiber Decorative, Furniture, Glass, Jewelry, Metal, Mixed Media, Paper, Wood, Printmaking,
Painting and Photography. Categories not accepted: dried flower arrangements; pressed flowers; seed and pod decorations; cut bottles and embellished objects such as painted boxes, stones, shells, and
buttons. Objects made from commercial kits or commercially available plans are also not acceptable.

ENTRY RULES

The images submitted must fully reflect the work to be exhibited in the booth. An artist, who works in more than one media category, must submit an application in each category. If one application is
accepted, only work in that category may be exhibited. Work that represents a variety of styles within the same media can be submitted on one application - provided that the images reflect the same proportion of work as will be presented in the booth. The exception is jewelry – which is required to be juried separately under the Jewelry category. Artists that work together may apply as one but must collaborate on each piece to be exhibited.

IMAGES
Each applicant must submit (5) images of the work to be shown and (1) of the booth set-up for consideration by the jury. The booth image is optional, but then a detailed description of the booth set-up
is required next to “Booth Description” line. Minimum image resolution should be 300 dpi and 1400-2000 pixels on the longer dimension. Artists are encouraged to update their portfolio with new images and consider improving the quality of previously submitted images to meet these specifications. ( delete not necessary)

JURY DECISIONS
Jurors' selections are based on the level of technical skill, quality of workmanship, and originality of design as represented in the images submitted. Only the (5) images seen in the application can represent of the work to be shown in your booth. The booth image is for size orientation and set-up. It is not a jury reference for additional work to be brought to the show.

Notification of the jury's decision for the 2015 show will be posted online at JAS on or before April 17, 2015. A contract and other AAC forms will be sent to those accepted into the 2015 show.

Please double check to make sure you have entered an up-to-date email address on your application.

AAC reserves the right to invite up to 10% new artists to the show to balance style and content of the juried work.

AWARDS
Awards of Excellence are judged and presented in recognition of outstanding work at the show.

SECURITY
AAC will be provided security on the premises of the Abington Art Center Fine Arts and Crafts at night; however, each artist exhibits at his or her own risk and should carry appropriate insurance. Abington Art Center and the Abington Art Center Fine Arts and Crafts Show will not be held responsible for damage, theft, or loss of your work.
