Prospectus

Who has the power? Who creates the beauty? Or is it the other way around? Can the power and beauty coexist? Purposely leaving the definition vague, we invite you to interpret the title in your jeweler’s voice. How do you visualize “The Power And The Beauty”?

Juried exhibition hosted by ALCHEMY 9.2.5, a contemporary jewelry and fine craft gallery in Belmont Center, MA. Shortly after opening its doors in 2012, ALCHEMY 9.2.5 was named “Best of the New” by the Boston Globe.  ALCHEMY is now home to the work of over 50 artists and continues to win awards in the Greater Boston Area.

ELIGIBLE MEDIA: Works must be “wearable” and contain some metal. Entries must be the complete work of the submitting artist. Kits will not be accepted. All work must have been completed within the past three years (2011-present).

Maximum 5 images and no detail images please.

AWARDS:

Awards provided by Allcraft, Halstead and Otto Frei.

CALENDAR:

Deadline for application: 1/30/15

Notification of acceptance mailed 2/12/15

Artist contracts are due 3/12/15

Shipped and hand delivered pieces due 4/21/15

Exhibition dates: 5/12/15-6/6/15

Pieces will be returned after 6/7/15, hand delivered work may be picked up after 6/7/15

AGREEMENT: No work may be withdrawn before the close of the exhibition. Sending an entry to this exhibition shall imply an agreement on the part of the sender to all the conditions set forth.

SALES: All entries must be for sale. ALCHEMY 9.2.5 will retain a 50% commission on all sales. Artists will be paid by June 18th.

INSURANCE: Entries will be insured by ALCHEMY 9.2.5 while in its custody and during return shipping. The insurance value must not exceed 50% of the retail (selling) price.
