63rd Annual All Florida Juried Competition and Exhibition

August 10 – October 25, 2014

Representing a dynamic cross-section of our state's talent, the 63rd Annual All Florida Juried Competition and Exhibition reinforces the Boca Museum's commitment to resident Floridians, provides professional exhibition opportunities for emerging artists, and reveals a provocative glimpse of the state-of-the-art today.

This Year’s Juror

The juror for the 63rd Annual All Florida is Trong Gia Nguyen, an independent curator, writer, and artist based in Brooklyn, New York. Over the last fifteen years, he has curated over 25 exhibitions in the United States and abroad. His shows have been reviewed in esteemed publications such as the New York Times, TimeOut, Village Voice, The Observer, and New Yorker Magazine. Currently Trong serves in multiple capacities –including Associate Curator– with Artist Pension Trust, a global organization with the unique goal of creating financial security for artists. From 2005-07, Trong founded and directed the Brooklyn gallery New General Catalog. He was also previously the Associate Director of Zabriskie Gallery from 2000-03. Trong has juried exhibitions at the Hunterdon Art Museum and other not-for-profit and commercial spaces, in addition to having participated on numerous talk, jury and portfolio review panels. Apart from curating, Trong was a senior editor at ArtSlant from 2009-13, where he also curated an annual exhibition. His texts and interviews have also appeared in Art:21, New York Arts Magazine, and Flavorpill. He continues to serve on the advisory boards of the Fashion in Film Festival, the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts Project Space, and Florence Artist in Residence. Trong has guest-lectured at the Latvian Center for Contemporary Art, Location One, New York University School of Visual Arts, Columbia University, Icelandic Art Academy, and the Catalyst Foundation.
