Description of the show:

Set for August 2013, the inaugural National Building Museum’s juried Design Show brings together designers, artists, craftsmen, and other creators of unique and high-design objects for residential and commercial spaces, with emphasis on trendsetting new products, innovative technologies and materials, and sustainable design.

A showcase for talented international designers and artisans and an unprecedented resource for discerning consumers, the show incorporates a wide range of handmade, custom, low production, decorative and functional objects including: home furnishings, accessories, fine art and photography, kitchen and bath products, flooring, fabric, lighting, and outdoor fixtures.

A rigorous jurying process involving eminent national figures in design, art, and architecture assures the highest quality and most innovative exhibitors.

The National Building Museum’s historic building in downtown Washington, D.C. provides a grand setting for this groundbreaking event. The Museum is America's premier cultural institution dedicated to exploring and celebrating architecture, interior design, design, landscape architecture, engineering, construction, and urban planning in our culture.

Artist/company Statement

Accepted categories: Decorative and/or functional examples of basketry, ceramics, fiber, fine art, furniture, glass, metal, mixed media, paper, photography, stone, wood, and other.

*The use of endangered species and products is not acceptable.

Eligibility:

Must be 18 years and above. Show is open to national and international artists (individual or collaborators), galleries and decorative art organizations and companies producing decorative and functional objects for home, building, and public spaces.

Booth fees: $1250-$2000 depending on size, type and location. Standard booth is 10’x10’.

Complimentary 10amps electricity is included in the booth fee.

Booth size: 10’x10’, 10’x15’ and 10’x20’

Notification: The result of jurying will be posted on your account with Juried Art Services on or before May 30, 2013. An email notification will be sent to you as well.
