Presents

The 2013 Juried Salon Show

Of Traditional Oils

OPA’s first Salon Show is being hosted by Crooked Tree Arts Center, Inc., located in Petoskey, Michigan, from June 22 through August 31, 2013. Situated on Little Traverse Bay overlooking the eastern shore of Lake Michigan, the quaint town of Petoskey offers many activities as a four–season resort town. Housed in a picturesque, 1890’s Victorian-style church, the Crooked Tree Arts Center, Inc. is hosting an opening reception on June 21 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with the awards presentation at 7:00 P.M.

Our goal is to assemble the finest display of representational oil paintings. The focus in the jurying process will be to select paintings that show the highest quality in draftsmanship, color, and composition, emphasizing a diversity in representational style and subject matter.

The total awards will be approximately $15,000.

The awarding juror will be an internationally renowned Signature or Master Signature Member.

Eligible states and provinces include: All paid members residing in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Artists must be either 2013 OPA paid members or have submitted an application for membership for 2013 to be eligible to submit an entry in this exhibition. Artists whose residency is in question must provide OPA with documentation certifying legal residency. See Bylaws Article II K on-line for definition of residency requirements.

Liabilities and Responsibilities

Oil Painters of America and the Crooked Tree Arts Center, Inc. will not be responsible for loss or damage of any artwork, no matter what the cause. By submitting artwork to this exhibition, each artist will be deemed to have concurred with this agreement. Artists pay for shipping both ways. We suggest that you provide insurance to cover the full value of the artwork while in transit.

Ken Cadwallader, Signature Member and OPA Board Member, will serve as chairman of a Jurying Committee

consisting of five Master Signature or Signature members of OPA. The results of the jurying will be final.

No refunds will be made on unaccepted entries. Participants should check the OPA website for the juror’s selections.
