The National Oil and Acrylic Painters’ Society is an alliance of exceptional artists showcasing outstanding works of art in oil and acrylic media. We welcome all patrons and artists. Membership this year includes the waiver of entry fees for 1 or 2 entries into the BEST of America! 2012. In addition to the waiver of entry fees, other benefits of membership include invitation to the opening ceremonies, a complimentary exhibition catalog, and periodic NOAPSociety newsletters. You are also invited to seminars and networking events. Eligible members are invited to the Signature Artists’ Guild, a designation which identifies an elite sector of the artists in NOAPS, whose work has been recognized for consistent excellence.
The organization’s goal is the expansion of public awareness, knowledge and appreciation of fine art. The NOAPSociety is designated by the Internal Revenue Service as a Sec. 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, eligible to receive tax exempt grants, gifts and donations. Artists and patrons are encouraged to join the organization and become a part of this cultural experience.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS – Deadline
This is the second year for NOAPS to use JAS and we are very pleased with the service. Images should be between 1400 pixels and 2000 pixels longest dimension at 300PPI (pixels per inch).. This will be juried by a ‘blind jury’ and artist’s signatures should be blurred in the images. In 2012, artists will be able to submit up to 5 entries (for additional fees – see below) however, a maximum of 2 paintings by one artist will be accepted into the show. All work submitted must be for sale. Mailed entries will not be accepted.
ENTRY FEES
Please read carefully as this has changed from previous years. Entry fees are paid upon checkout at www.juriedartservices.com and are as follows: $50 for 1 or 2 entries, and an additional $10 per entry up to 5 entries. Example: Entries -- $50 for 1 or 2, $60 for 3, $70 for 4, or $80 for 5. However, a maximum of 2 paintings by one artist will be accepted into the show. The minimum $50 entry fee also pays for your 2012 membership dues. For those artists who have already paid their 2012 membership dues, and wish to enter, please contact noaps1991_usa@noaps.org for further instructions.
SALES AND LIABILITY
All entries must be for sale. Paintings of all price ranges are accepted. Entrants price their own work, and these prices must be closely representative of the established market value for that artist’s work. The prices of accepted paintings will be the price set by the artist on the entry form, and may not be altered during the entire exhibition period. The NOAPSociety deducts a twenty percent donation and a twenty percent commission for the gallery of the sale price for transactions attributed to the exhibition. Upon acceptance, images become the property of the NOAPSociety, which retains the right to reproduce the images, regardless of copyright, for promotional or education purposes only. All reasonable care will be exercised with artwork. However, the NOAPSociety, hosting facility, and organizations or individuals assume no responsibility and shall not be held liable for damages of any kind which may occur while work is exhibited or in transit. Shipping companies and artists are responsible for the safety, payment, and clarification of various methods of shipment. The NOAPSociety continues referrals for up to one year after the closing date of the exhibition.
SELECTION
Entries are reviewed anonymously by a qualified, independent panel of artists, art collectors, educators, and patrons. Works are chosen on the basis of quality and individual artist’s mastery of the medium and expression without preference toward any particular school, painting style, or technique. Artists are notified of acceptance, and upon selection, are given shipping instructions. There will be a $25.00 handling charge per box, and a prepaid return shipping label will be required. Upon receipt of accepted paintings, NOAPSociety retains the right to refuse any painting for technical inaccuracy, misrepresentation, inadequate framing, or improper packaging. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs. Awards are selected by the Awards Judge, and the decision is final. Awards are announced at the Awards Reception, to which artists, members, patrons and the public are invited. Admission is free to both receptions.
