PSSW 2012 National Juried Exhibition will be the nonprofit organization's 31st juried show. Membership ranges from beginners to nationally recognized professionals. We invite you to participate in our juried exhibition and be a part of our quest for the highest artistic excellence in pastel.
JUROR MARLA BAGGETTA
PSSW is privileged to have Marla Baggetta as our juror and awards judge for our 2012 National Juried Exhibition. Marla Baggetta has been a self-employed professional artist since 1983 after receiving her BFA with honors from Art Center College of Design. Baggetta had a distinguished career as a commercial illustrator before turning to landscape painting, with clients such as Walt Disney and Nissan Motors. After a move to Oregon in 1993, Baggetta began painting the landscape. She is a member of PSA and the Pastel Society of Oregon. Baggetta teaches painting workshops through out the country.

ELIGIBILITY
- Open to all artists working in the soft pastel medium. Society members receive a discount on show entry fee. Go to www.pssw.info to join Membership dues are $35.
- Entries must be original, unpublished and executed in the last three years.
- Student work produced under supervision is not eligible.
- Entries must not have been previously exhibited in a PSSW juried exhibition.
- Entries must be suitably framed under glass or Plexiglas and ready to hang with wire hangers. Saw tooth hangers are not acceptable.
- Framed work must not exceed 48" in height or width.
- All accepted work must remain at The Eisemann Center for the duration of the exhibit.
- The PSSW reserves the right to reject any work not meeting eligibility requirements, or deemed inappropriate to The Eisemann Center (including frontal nudes) even after painting has been accepted.
AWARDS
- Cash, gift certificates and merchandise in excess of $4000, will be awarded.
- Best of Show will receive a $1000 cash award.
- 1st and 2nd Place Awards of Excellence will receive cash awards.
DIGITAL IMAGES
Digital images submitted should be jpeg between 1400 - 4000 pixels on the longest side.
DELIVERY AND RETURN OF SELECTED ENTRIES
- Shipped entries must be received by the shipping agent between October 22nd and 31st, 2012. The shipping agent is Craters and Freighters and shipping charges are $45 for one painting, with $10 charge for each additional painting. Shipping address and more information will be included in accepted works packet.
- Do not ship by bus.
- Hand delivered entries will be accepted Tuesday, November 6th from 1 p.m.. to 5 p.m.
- Shipped entries must be prepaid in reusable crates.
- Insure for your own protection.
- Shipping instructions, including handling fees and return shipping instructions will be sent upon notification of acceptance.
- Shipped entries will be packaged and returned no later than December 15, 2012.
- Pick up hand delivered entries Monday, December 3, 2012 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITIES
Artwork will be handled with all possible care; however, neither the Pastel Society of the Southwest, The Eisemann Center, Craters and Freighters or any member of the PSSW will be responsible for any loss or damage. Glass is used at the artist's risk. Artists will be responsible for replacing broken glass. Entering this exhibition shall constitute an understanding and agreement on the part of the artist with the conditions stated. PSSW suggests artists carry separate insurance. Permission to reproduce artists work for publicity purposes is assumed with acceptance.
EXHIBITION SPACE
The PSSW Exhibit will be held in the The Eisemann Center 2351 Performance Drive, Richardson, TX 75082. Gallery hours are Monday thru Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
SALES
The sales price marked on your entry may not be changed. "Not for Sale" will be accepted . Please price your work accordingly. PSSW receives a 30% commission on all work sold.
