ART AT THE SHOPS - YORKTOWN is a new festival and has the marketing support to become a highly successful first year festival. Hours are 5 pm - 8 pm on Friday, July 16th, and 11 am - 7 pm on Saturday and 12 pm - 6 pm on Sunday.
Friday hours include an Artist Preview Gala at the festival site. All artists are encouraged to participate, early set up is available.
The 100 artist festival attracts fine artist and fine craft from across the United States.
The festival is held in the upscale Yorktown Center in Lombard, IL. Lombard is approximately 30 minutes west of downtown Chicago. Nearby suburbs include Oak Brook, Wheaton and Lombard. The average median home price in 2007 was $283,000, surrounding suburb, Oakbrook median home price was $1,020,000Lombard and the surrounding have a combined population of over 1 million.
D & W Events, Inc. Has organized and presented fine art and fine craft festivals for 12 years. Artists' have commented that we understand artists needs and portray our festivals honestly. APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Image Submission:
We will accept digital images only. Submission should consist of three (3) images representative of your current work and one (1) of your current booth set up.
When applying to one show in two categories, separate jury and booth fees, images, SASE’s are required for each category.
If you are a glass artist and want to show glass jewelry also, apply to the shows in two (2) categories, glass and jewelry, submitting separate images for both. If you’ll be displaying both in the same booth, your booth image should reflect that.
Each entry must be accompanied by an application form, non-refundable jury fee(s), one (1) SASE, separate check(s) for booth fees, tent fees, corner fees etc. ALL FEES MUST BE SUBMITTED PRIOR TO DEADLINE. Booth fee checks WILL NOT be cashed until show acceptance.
A professional jury will review images for each show. Artists will be selected by point totals. We attempt to balance quantity of artists in each media category.

FEES & REFUNDS:

Jury and booth fees are due at time of application. Please submit your jury and show fee(s) in separate checks. If you upgrade to a corner booth, the upgrade and booth fee can be combined into one check. Make checks payable to D & W Events, Inc. And mail to 3417 RFD, Long Grove, IL 60047.
*** We will NOT cash your booth fee check until you’ve been accepted.***
If you are not accepted, your full booth fee will be refunded.
Cancellation must be received in writing, via e-mail or certified mail, dwevents@comcast.net or 3417 RFD, Long Grove, IL 60047. NO refunds will be given after May 1, 2010. We will make no exceptions to this policy and will not refund fees due to inclement weather,acts of God, etc.

POLICIES:
ORIGINAL WORK POLICY:
All work displayed must be presented in a finished manner. Work hung will have no cardboard or protective corners, frames in good condition. ALL work must be the artists’ original work; kits, imports or mass produced items are not allowed. Prints produced by the artist, properly signed, numbered and clearly labeled as such may be shown in flip bins. Reproduced work may not exceed 25% of exhibited work.
D & W Events,
Artists whose work does not comply with the rules or differs from images submitted will be asked to remove said items or leave.
Artists must be present both days, all hours, of the festival. No representatives allowed. Late set ups and early shut downs are not allowed.
Artists are responsible for providing their own white tents, displays, set up and weights. Tables must be skirted to the ground. Weights are required at Deerfield Festival of Fine Art and Art at the Shops - Yorktown. Staking is allowed at Art in the Park - Northbrook and Cuneo Gardens.
No pets
Smoking is allowed in designated areas only.
Standard display space is 10’x10’. All spaces are assigned. A limited number of double spaces are available for double the show fee, and corner spaces are an additional $50.00 per show.

WAIT LIST:
Artists on the wait list are welcome to show up the morning of a festival during set-up and register to see if any “no show” spaces become available. Final determination to add artists is at the sole discretion of D & W Events, Inc.
JURY & JUDGING:
Art at the Shops - Yorktown is judged by a panel of professional artists, gallery owners, and/or educators.
Artists are judged, the first day of each show, by a different group of professionals and/or educators. Cash awards and ribbons are presented Saturday afternoon.
