These descriptions will help engage the viewers by telling the story behind the piece. During July and August 2018 the Brighton Art Guild will host accepted works in Brighton, Michigan.
Awards
$800, Best in Show; $500 First Place; $400, Second Place; $300, Third Place; $300 People’s Choice (sponsored by Keller Williams Brighton/Fowlerville),
Juror
Jim Nawara recently retired from Wayne State University after spending several decades teaching art. He has an M.F.A., from University of Illinois. Primarily a landscape painter, Nawara’s work often depicts the effects of human activity on landscape. His images suggest a momentary balance between human endeavor and other natural forces. His work is represented in numerous collections nationwide, including the Detroit Institute of Arts and the Museum of Fine Art (Boston). He has juried many local groups.
All works will be “blind juried.”
