Presents The

2017 Western Regional

Juried Exhibition Of Traditional Oils

OPA’s 2017 Western Regional Exhibition is being hosted by Illume Gallery of Fine Art, Authentique Gallery of Art & Design and The Mission Gallery, located in Saint George, Utah, November 10 through December 9, 2017.  Known as Utah’s “Dixie” the area offers a wide variety of things to do.  You might visit Pioneer Park to view and hike the spectacular red, rock formations.  The Rosenbruch Wildlife Museum presents nearly 300 species of animals, recreated in examples of their natural environments.  And at the Saint George Dinosaur Discovery Site you can see 200-million year old dinosaur tracks, as well as fossils of dinosaurs, fish bones, marine animal shells and plant life.  Sporting activities in the area include golf, fishing, hiking and hot air ballooning, to name just a few.  Illume Gallery of Fine Art, Authentique Gallery of Art & Design and The Mission Gallery are hosting an opening reception on Friday, November 10, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the awards presentation at 8:00 p.m.

Our goal is to assemble the finest display of representational oil paintings.  The focus in the jurying process will be to select paintings that show the highest quality in draftsmanship, color, and composition, emphasizing a diversity in representational style and subject matter.

The total awards will be approximately $11,500, including a $4,000 Best In Show.

The awarding juror will be an OPA Signature or Master Signature member.

Eligible states and provinces include: Alaska, Alberta, Arizona, British Columbia, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Manitoba, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, North Dakota, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Oklahoma, Oregon, Saskatchewan, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, Yukon Territories, and all of Mexico.  Artists must be either 2017 OPA paid members or have submitted an application for membership for 2017 to be eligible to submit an entry in this exhibition.   Artists whose residency is in question must provide OPA with documentation certifying legal residency.  See Bylaws Article II L on-line for definition of residency requirements.

 Liabilities and Responsibilities

Oil Painters of America and Illume Gallery of Fine Art, Authentique Gallery of Art & Design and The Mission Gallery will not be responsible for loss or damage of any artwork, no matter what the cause.  By submitting artwork to this exhibition, each artist will be deemed to have concurred with this agreement.  Artists pay for shipping both ways.  We suggest that you provide insurance to cover the full value of the artwork while in transit.

The Jurying Committee will consist of five Master Signature or Signature members of OPA.  The results of the jurying will be final.  No refunds will be made on unaccepted entries.
