Prospectus

The 43rd annual Orange Beach Festival of Art is a juried exhibition and sale of fine art hosted by the Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach, Alabama. Our setting is both intimate and magnificent among stately oaks on beautiful Wolf Bay. The event has become a regional attraction drawing 15,000 visitors. The festival includes performing arts, gourmet coastal cuisine, a bayfront music stage, and a kids’ arts alley. Our beautiful new 10,000 sq. ft. gallery should be complete for the festival. Come be a part of our rich cultural history, in a story-book setting -- all with the warmest southern welcome!

The Friday afternoon set-up is convenient, offering a direct load-in area with close access to your tent space. Your tents will be set-up on the lawn at the edge of a paved center path. A light breakfast is served on Saturday and Sunday under a park pavilion near the artist’s lane. An Artist Awards Dinner is held on Saturday night featuring our famous Gulf Coast seafood. An artist’s information letter explaining all these details will be sent in late January to all accepted artists who pay for and secure their space on time.

Each year, our top award winners are automatically invited back; however, applications are still required. Top winners should fill out the application on-line and when you get to the “Review Application” page, just exit out INSTEAD of clicking the “Pay Now” button. Booth fees will still be required by January 15, paid to the Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach.

SHOW TYPE/SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS : FINE arts only - no crafters please. All mediums welcome but please carefully indicate your medium type. Example: If you make jewelry that uses both clay and metal, that is still jewelry and not Mixed Media. Four (4) photos of your work and a booth photo are required. If you have never had a booth in a show before, you must set up a sample booth display and send photo. FAILURE TO INCLUDE A BOOTH PICTURE WILL AUTOMATICALLY DISQUALIFY YOU.

EVENT IS RAIN OR SHINE. NO LATE SET-UPS ALLOWED, REGARDLESS OF WEATHER.

PARKING : Required parking space for all vendors is in the back parking lot of the adjacent church facility – no exceptions.

APPLICATION FEES : $35 (non-refundable) payable on line at Juried Art Services.com - - NO late applications accepted.

DEADLINE, REVIEW and EDITING of Applications
• Applicants will be able to edit their applications until submissions close at midnight CST on October 30, 2016. NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

• Artists can upload new images, revise statements, check payment status and view the application as it will be seen by the jurors until the closing deadline.

• If you have not completed your application, including the $35 application payment, by midnight CST on October 30, 2016, your application will not be submitted for review by the juror panel.

NOTIFICATION – 11/18/2016

Jury results will be posted confidentially on the Juried Art Services website under the “Manage Application” function on Friday, November 18, 2016. YOU MUST LOG ON TO JAS TO SEE YOUR RESULTS. DO NOT CALL THE ART CENTER. Your results will be posted as follows:

- Those whose application shows a green check mark are invited artists

- A yellow exclamation point indicates waitlisted artists

- A red indicates rejected artists.

ACCEPTANCE LETTER
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION IN THE JAS SYSTEM IS CORRECT. On November 18, 2016 all invited artists will receive an electronic letter from Juried Art Services indicating the process for accepting the invitation. It will be sent to your email address in the Juried Art Services system. If your email changes, it is your responsibility to access your JAS account and make sure the change is reflected before November 18, 2016. Invited artists can also access the letter while in the JAS system by clicking on the green check mark icon for the Orange Beach Festival of Art.

BOOTH FEES AND ARTIST INFO
The acceptance letter will contain instructions on how to accept the invitation and how to secure and pay for booth space ($225 per booth; +$25 for corner booth, limited availability.) It is important that invited artists who plan on participating access these instructions as early as possible. All Artist Acceptance forms and payments will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis.

The deadline for paying booth fees, after you have been accepted, is January 15, 2016. WE WILL NO LONGER PERSONALLY CALL OR EMAIL REMINDERS TO THOSE WHO HAVE NOT PAID ON TIME. After January 15, we will begin contacting the waitlist artists until all spaces are filled. At the end of January, an information letter will be EMAILED to the final list of participating artists with final detailed information about the event logistics and guidelines.
