EVENT PROSPECTUS

Entry Fee:
Nonrefundable entry fee of $60 for up to 3 entries.

All applicants must be paid 2016 artist members of the Hoosier Salon.

Judging:

Panel of three jurors will select works for inclusion in the exhibition from digital images. The judges will award prizes based on seeing the actual works of art.

Exhibition Awards:

Over $25,000 in awards including Best in Show and People’s Choice.

Eligible Artists:

Must be a paid 2016 artist member of the Hoosier Salon. Membership must be purchased at hoosiersalon.org or by phone at (317) 669-6052. Additionally, a 1-year residency in Indiana (at any time in the life of the artist) is required.

Eligible Works:

  • Both 2D and 3D works are accepted.
  • All media are accepted
  • Most types of art are accepted (painting, printmaking, ceramics, textiles, furniture, drawing, etc.) however no photography or digital art is allowed.
  • Work must be original and produced by the entrant
  • Work must have been completed in 2015-16 and not previously exhibited in any juried exhibition.
  • Works may not have been executed in class or under supervision of an instructor.
  • Straight copies of paintings or published photographs are prohibited.
  • Subject matter must be appropriate for viewing by audiences of all ages in a setting open to the general public.

Rules:

  • Works MUST be for sale and reasonably priced. The Hoosier Salon retains 40% commission.
  • All 2D artwork must be suitably framed and ready for hanging: use flat strap wires only; no screw eyes are acceptable unless they are on the inside of the stretcher frame.
  • Width and height of work, including frame cannot exceed 48”x 48”.
  • Plexiglass is preferred for all works and MUST be used instead of glass on any work that is 30”x 30” or larger.
  • Please use discretion in the size and weight of 3D works.
  • All 2D entries juried into the show may tour through Indiana following the exhibit. The Hoosier Salon reserves the right to determine whether works will travel.

Failure to meet these entry requirements will result in rejection. The Hoosier Salon reserves the right to disqualify and revoke awards of any entry in violation of the eligibility rules.

Entry Instructions:

All applications must be made online at Juried Art Services.com.

Jury Decisions:

Notifications of acceptance or non-acceptance will be made by email beginning June 25, 2016.

Those artists accepted into the 92nd annual exhibition will receive detailed instructions about delivering or shipping ACCEPTED works for awards jurying and exhibition.

AGREEMENT

Regulations set forth have been adopted by the Board of Directors of the Hoosier Salon Patrons Association, Inc.

Your entry constitutes an agreement with all conditions of this prospectus. Entry rules WILL BE enforced and final decisions about compliance are made by the Hoosier Salon’s executive director.

Permission to reproduce works for publicity is considered granted.

Every reasonable effort will be made to protect the safety of all works of art. Works will be handled and exhibited at the risk of the artist.

Your items are insured for 50% of the established retail value of each item, subject to a maximum of $5,000 for any one item.

DELIVERY OF ACCEPTED WORKS FOR EXHIBIT

All ACCEPTED work must be clearly labeled on the back with Name and Title matching the original entry.

All ACCEPTED work being delivered by the artist or artist’s agent must be received by July 8, 2016 before 6:00 p.m at Twin Oaks Estate / 555 Kessler Blvd. West Drive / Indianapolis.

ACCEPTED work may be delivered to Twin Oaks Estate from July 6 through 8 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

All ACCEPTED works being shipped must be addressed to the Hoosier Salon Carmel Gallery / 22 North Rangeline Road / Carmel, Indiana 46032. Shipments will be received between June 27 and July 8.

All ACCEPTED works must be in the possession of the Hoosier Salon staff by July 8, 2016, 6:00 p.m..
