OIL PAINTERS OF AMERICA®
Dedicated to the Preservation of Representational Art

Presents The

2016 Eastern Regional
Juried Exhibition Of Traditional Oils

OPA’s Eastern Regional Exhibition is once again being hosted by Eisele Gallery of Fine Art, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, from September 9 through October 8, 2016. The City of Cincinnati offers many diversified attractions. Visitors may visit the amazing Taft Museum of Art, the American Sign Museum to watch a neon sign being made, the Krohn Conservatory which offers an indoor botanical garden and rain forest waterfall in an Art Deco style facility, or the Lytle Park Historical District with its Georgian, Greek Revival and Italianate styles of architecture. Eisele Gallery of Fine Art is hosting an opening reception and awards ceremony on Friday, September 9, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for artists, friends, press and the public. This will be followed by a separate gallery collectors’ reception from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Our goal is to assemble the finest display of representational oil paintings. The focus in the jurying process will be to select paintings that show the highest quality in draftsmanship, color, and composition, emphasizing a diversity in representational style and subject matter.

The total awards will be approximately $11,500, including a $4,000 Best In Show.

The awarding juror will be an internationally renowned Signature or Master Signature member.

Eligible states and provinces include: Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New Brunswick, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Newfoundland, North Carolina, Nova Scotia, Ohio, Ontario, Pennsylvania, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Artists must be either a 2016 OPA paid member or have submitted an application for membership for 2016 to be eligible to submit an entry in this exhibition. Artists whose residency is in question must provide OPA with documentation certifying legal residency. See Bylaws Article II K on-line for definition of residency requirements.

Liabilities and Responsibilities

Oil Painters of America and Eisele Gallery of Fine Art will not be responsible for loss or damage of any artwork, no matter what the cause. By submitting artwork to this exhibition, each artist will be deemed to have concurred with this agreement. Artists pay for shipping both ways. We suggest that you provide insurance to cover the full value of the artwork while in transit.

Howard Friedland, Signature Member and OPA Board Member, will serve as chairman of a Jurying Committee consisting of five Master Signature or Signature members of OPA. The results of the jurying will be final. No refunds will be made on unaccepted entries.
